How a turn works

Draw train cards

Take 2 cards from the face-up row or the top of the deck. If drawing a locomotive from the face-up pile, that locomotive must be your first pick and then your draw is over. If you happen to draw it from the deck, it counts as 1 card and you can proceed to draw a second card.

Claim 1 route

Play cards matching the route's color and length, put your trains on it and score it right away. gray routes can be claimed with any color, but all cards must match. You can't claim a route if another player has already claimed it.

Draw tickets

Draw 3 tickets and keep at least 1. Put the rest on the bottom of the ticket deck. If there are less than 3 tickets left, draw all of them and keep at least 1. You can only draw tickets once per turn.
