Who wins a tie in Ticket to Ride?
Most ticketsShort answer
The tied player who completed the most tickets wins. If they're still tied, the player holding the longest path bonus card wins. If none of them has it, they share the victory.
The rule:
In Ticket to Ride, a tie on points goes to the tied player who completed the most tickets, then to the one holding the longest path bonus card. If none of them has it, they share the victory.
The player with the most points wins. If two or more players tie for the most points:
- Most completed tickets wins.
- Still tied? The player among them with the longest path bonus card wins.
- Still tied, and none of them has the card? They share the victory.
Example:
Mia and Kai both finish on 112 points. Mia completed 5 tickets and Kai completed 4, so Mia wins.
Why players argue about it:
Most players don't know there's a tiebreaker at all, and it's easy to forget that the longest path card is the second one.
