In short

Roll and move around the board, buying properties and collecting rent from anyone who lands on them. Own a whole color set to double the rent and build houses and hotels for even more. Players who can't pay their debts go bankrupt; the last player with money wins.

Setup

  1. 1Choose a Banker to look after the Bank's money, houses, hotels, Title Deeds and auctions. The Banker can also play, as long as their own money stays separate.
  2. 2The Banker deals each player $1,500: two 500s, four 100s, one 50, one 20, two 10s, one 5 and five 1s.
  3. 3Shuffle the Chance and the Community Chest cards and put each deck face down on its space on the board.
  4. 4Everyone picks a token and puts it on GO.
  5. 5Each player rolls both dice. The highest roll goes first, and play passes to the left.

How a turn works

Roll and move

Roll both dice and move clockwise that many spaces. A double lets you roll again, but a third double in a row sends you straight to Jail.

Follow the space

Buy an unowned property or put it up for auction, pay rent to an owner, draw a card, pay a tax, and so on.

Build and trade any time

You can make deals with other players and build on your color sets at any time, not only on your own turn.

End your turn

Pass the dice to the player on your left (unless you rolled a double).

How to win

Last player with money

Players who can't pay what they owe go bankrupt and leave the game. You win when:

Every other player is bankrupt
