Can you stay in a room and make another suggestion in Clue?
No. You get one suggestion per visit to a room. To suggest there again, you have to leave and come back on a later turn, not your very next one. You also can't skip a turn to stay put.
The rule:
In Clue, no: you get one suggestion per visit to a room, so you must leave and come back on a turn after your next one. The exception: if another player’s suggestion moves your pawn there, you may suggest without moving.
Ways to make your next suggestion:
- Enter a different room, or
- Leave this room, then come back in on a turn after your next one.
No waiting around: you can’t give up a turn just to stay in a room.
Trapped? If other pawns block every door, you have to stay until a door is cleared. You still get only one suggestion for that visit.
The exception: if another player’s suggestion moves your pawn into a room, you may suggest there on your next turn without moving.
Example:
Rosa makes a suggestion in the Dining Room. On her next turn she has to move out, and she can't come straight back in on that turn. On the turn after that, she can roll back in and suggest again.
Why players argue about it:
Sitting in one room and suggesting turn after turn is a common house habit. The rules make you keep moving.
