How do pink powers work in Wingspan?
Pink "once between turns" powers trigger on other players' turns, when they do the thing the card describes. Each pink power can be used only once between your own turns.
The rule:
In Wingspan, pink “once between turns” powers trigger on other players’ turns, when they do what the card describes, and each pink power can be used only once between your own turns.
Bird powers come in 3 colors:
| Color | When it works |
|---|---|
| Brown, “when activated” | When you use that bird’s habitat row, from right to left |
| White, “when played” | Once, when you play the bird |
| Pink, “once between turns” | On an opponent’s turn, when they trigger it |
A pink power can be used once between each of your own turns. Tell the table what your pink powers do so others can help you notice. Like all bird powers, it’s optional.
Example:
Ana has a bird whose pink power gains her food when another player plays a bird in a certain habitat. Ben does exactly that, so Ana uses the power. If Kai does it too before Ana's next turn, she can't use it again.
Why players argue about it:
People forget pink powers exist because they fire on other turns. The rulebook asks players to remind each other when one should trigger.
